Artist’s Statement:. An “imagineering” of fact & fantasy, my artwork often tells a story. This visual story is usually factual biology, mixed with creative imagination. I invite the viewer to enter the portholes of my creations & enjoy a world of the innermost parts of nature, often those missed at first glance.
I create microcosms, using color, texture & fluid, organic lines, to express the energy of living habitats. Much of my artwork is inspired by the underwater world. I am compelled to portray this fragile habitat, not only for its unusual beauty & wonder, but to create awareness of the need to preserve our precious coral reefs & tropical coastline.
I am a multi-media artist, working in clay and silk painting. Texture, brilliant colors & fluid movement are the features of my designs. My artwork also says, “touch me”.
